About Union Aid:

Union Aid (UA) was established by a group of Afghan philanthropists and social activists in July 1979 in Peshawar, Pakistan. Union Aid was serving Afghan Refugees and host communities living in/around refugee camps through various projects in three main sectors; health, education and skill development. UA has been providing basic health services through hospitals, Basic Health Units (BHUs), labor rooms, provision of prosthetic limbs and first aid trainings. UA facilitated Afghan Refugees in education sector through providing formal basic and higher education, skill development programs for men and women, literacy centers and scholarships.

Union Aid is actively providing regular support in humanitarian & development sectors such as, Healthcare, Nutrition, Education, Scholarships, Technical Vocational Education Trainings, Family Support Programs, Emergency Response and Support, Livelihoods, Food Security, Shelter, Construction/Rehabilitation of community level infrastructures, Environmental Protection, and WASH.

Job Description:

  1. Provide standard laboratory examinations with high-quality and accurate results,
  2. Registration and keeping record of the examination result,
  3. Ensure proper collection, labeling, and storage of specimens,
  4. Record and report test results accurately to the Clinic In charge,
  5. Providing information and referrals to doctors and midwives for every patient who visits the health center,
  6. Follow up infection prevention procedures according to standard guidelines,
  7. Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring calibration and functionality,
  8. Protecting Lab equipment against sunlight, electric shock, and other harms,
  9. Quick response in an emergency related to your field,
  10. Receiving other jobs delegated from the clinic In-charge,
  11. Check the quality of the lab reagents, including the expiry date,
  12. Follow infection control and safety protocols in laboratory procedures,
  13. Manage laboratory inventory, ensuring the availability of necessary supplies,
  14. Maintain accurate documentation and reporting as per HF regulations.

Job Requirements:

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or a related field.
  • Demonstrated understanding of BPHS & health system context in Afghanistan.
  • Proficiency in Dari, Pashto and English languages with written and oral communication skills.
  • Three years, relevant experience in BPHS Health Facilities laboratory.
  • Perferences will be given the female candidates,
  • Proficiency in diagnostic testing, laboratory equipment operation, and quality control procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail, teamwork, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
